Can a linear sketch pattern be created by defining specific start and end points?

Is it possible to create a linear pattern that calcuates the appropriate spacing between two points or lines. For example I am drawing out a pencil holder and want to create several holes that are evenly spaced on a rectangle. If I define the diameter, is there a way to select the start and end point and have the linear pattern be created? Does this make sense?

consider using a Curve Pattern instead, with a straight line as the curve.

You can set a calculated dimension

You can delete initial linear pattern dimensions and add end dimensions.
