Laser Joint feature for joints other than 90 degrees

I am looking for a way to use the Laser Joint feature or any other similar feature to join several laser cut parts at an angle other than 90 degrees. The feature works to create the tabs, but the gaps are on the outer part of my model. Is there a way to create joints (even if sanding corners is needed) that create clean joints on the outside with the gaps hidden inside? A student is trying to create a pyramid out of laser cut wood.
