.STEP A214 and A242 Not exporting face appearances correctly

edited February 2022 in Product Feedback
just released an assembly which has 3 different face appearances indicative of surface textures, they display correctly in onshape and on the drawings, but as per the usual due diligence check I checked the exported file from onshape in both onshape and solidworks before sending to external vendor to see that some of the face appearances are missing.

this now means going back and obsoleting the revision, creating a new drawing sheet and displaying the face appearances for each part in each area and exporting the 3D in A213 as A214 does not seem to be working correctly.

Further to this, the faces are read differently when solidworks imports them vs onshape is there something else I can do to get this to suppliers? suppliers prefer just step files vs sending onshape links (not an option)
