New to assembly

I have the parts drawn and placed into an assembly for the first time. I had a very easy time moving them around. Only used the Planar Mate Connectors at this time. I saw some corrections that I need to make to the parts, I corrected them. When I returned to the tab that I did the initial assembly in after several days the updated parts were not showing. I figured I could begin a new assembly using the new parts, but the parts that are showing are the older versions of them - some were updated and others weren't. The prospect of resketching all the parts again is a very frustrating decision. How do I update their versions. I cannot find a video that describes that process.
I apologize in advance for my stupid question.
