Checking Work Originality

I am a bit new to the Onshape Enterprise ecosystem.  I am checking some student work on the Intro to CAD unit and came across a "CAD Import" tab in one of their documents.  I have never seen this before and wondering if anyone has experience with this.  Does this seem to indicate that a CAD file was imported from some external source, like downloaded from the Internet?  Would appreciate a bit of guidance on this.  Thank you.

    Hi @todd_boschman,

Yes, that means that that part of the model was imported.

I do not recommend modeling a bearing from scratch if they are already modeled in the standard library content or if they are available for download from a site like https://www.mcmaster.com/. Importing is a great way to get standard parts into your models quickly and is a vital part of manufacturing workflows.

As a teacher, it would be good to focus on if the student is learning Onshape. You can see in the history tree what they have done. If their only actions are imports and no other work, then that is not good. But some imports are ok as long as they are not solely relying on them.
