Linear Pattern for heat exchanger.

I am having having issues creating multiple instances of this heat exchanger. I did a composite part to bring all of the various parts into one. but when I "select parts to pattern" in the Linear pattern dialog it doesn't work. I believe my issue is with the composite part dialog, something went wrong there. Please help. Some things are very counter intuitive.
