Export a DXF after extruding

I am using Onshape as a craft maker to cut 1/87 scale building parts. The laser I use wants a DXF output. I have figured out how to export DXF files *unless* I have extruded the part. If I have extruded the part I wind up deleting the extrusion to then delete the 2d DXF. Is there a way to export a 2d DXF of a part without deleting the extrusion?

If you left-click on the face that has the profile you want and then right-click, you should have the option to export a DXF of that face.
