How can I find these inactive mates?

How can I find these inactive mates that are shown while releasing?

My assembly does not have suppressions nor are any mates grayed out.

Have you tried comparing the two releases? As well if there are any subassemblies try releasing those first to see if the problem is lower in your assembly.

I know the thread is old, but without answer. I stumbled about this topic today.

    - click on show all, then inactive mates are better to see.
    - after that, checkout shortcuts j and k. It helps to hide the mates.

besides i don't understand the sense of inactive mates, why not just suppressing it together with suppressed parts... would make live so much easier.
