Intro to CAD, Skateboard, Realistic Trucks

I've tried this five times in the last few days and have checked the steps multiple times to see if I've missed something. When When I modify the first sketch in the realistic trucks adaptation, my hanger breaks every time. The tab, which was extruded with the add function to add it to the hanger itself shows as a part of the hanger until I modify the sketch.. Then it is suddenly split off as it's own part and does not look like it's supposed to even in the "Whoa it's a little wonky now" stage (see pictures). I suspect there is at least one constraint missing somewhere but I can't figure out where. The instructions on what to fix don't appear to address this so I'm at a loss on how to help my kids.

Looks like your on the right path. The learning center tutorials will teach you best practices so that your future projects are robust, easy to model, and easy to update. For now, I chose one of your studios and re-constrained a sketch, then revised the fillet approach.

Try deleting the constraint you think is out of date, then apply a new constraint:Repairing fillets
Try splitting the fillet up into multiple fillets. Create 3 fillets instead of one. The order of the fillets is very important for how Onshape calculates the geometry.

Hi @hester_russell, awesome project! Usually when a part studio breaks, it is due to improper constraints and a poor usage of feature inputs. With some well placed constraints and robust feature inputs, your studio will not fail when it regenerates.

There are a couple of copies of the truck redesign attempts in different tabs. I did not put in the fillets, etc., as I was trying to figure out the geometry related to trucks and can add those in later. This document was my 5th attempt by the way. I deleted the first four trying to keep from confusing myself on which document had what in it.
