I want to split a part into 4 equal parts, but the sketch is being created wrong

Hi, I have this, that I created from a LiDAR scan and extruded a spline of the portion I want to work with: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/e6acef16226557f64aa8a85b/w/fcf48772d08c1fc9334b7a1f/e/4668fc82f5a2866c3b4ede4f?renderMode=0&uiState=63bf0ac928a8fe1bea989664

SO, I have 2 questions:
1. As soon as I try to add a sketch to the top/bottom faces, the created sketch is off by a tiny portion, and messes up what I want to do, as the points created aren't on the actual part line. Why isn't it creating a sketch just like I had for other projects? Is that any how related to how I extruded the spline?
2. Also, why isn't the extruded part with a smooth curve? It is all pointy.

    1. For question 1. Can you create one of these sketches to illustrate what you mean? I don't know what you did for other projects. I see you have a sketch 2 but I don't know what is wrong with it. Try using the disable imprinting option maybe that will help you get your desired results.

    2. I don't know how you created sketch 1 exactly but I am guessing you made it with relation to your lidar data? In that case I think that the lidar is most likely using straight line approximations. Can I get more details on exactly what you did?
