*PLEASE HELP* Extruding issue

Hi, I am trying to add an extrusion to an existing extrusion, however it appears that the two extrusions aren't merging. Usually when I add an additional extrusion to an existing part, the new extrusion will stay the same color. Not the case here, leading me to believe that they aren't merging despite me using the 'add' extrusion. I need this to be merged together in order to 3D print correctly. Thanks!

(P.S. Images uploaded incorrectly, last image is actually the first and the first listed is the last)

Might have to do with the scope of the extrusion itself. I've had issues trying to merge parts with coplanar surfaces before, especially when working with very small parts, as the program doesn't seem to understand interpret the geometry correctly at a very small scale. Have you tried sketching over the same plane you want to extrude and adding a small lip that intersects with the part you want it to merge with?
