Why i can not split this Part?

Hey,
I try to design a model rocket nose cone and i have a problem:
I want to split to nose cone in two parts. It should be like a box for the parachute. But split tool only works if i uncheck the keep both sides checkbox.

It's a little difficult to tell, since you didn't make your document fully public. No one can make a copy in order to fully investigate. That said, looking at a cross section there are some weird little gaps near the base where some of the features are not quite joining, and there's a separate part which is interfering at the top. Seems like some of these issues may be making your split fail.
