How to use shell feature on one face

First of all, I am new to Onshape. This is my second project.
I am designing a guitar body, and I want to hollow out a cavity for electronics, and the shell feature seems like the best option. The problem is shell hollows out the whole model like this.![Image: https://us.v-cdn.net/5022071/uploads/editor/om/p30zfloyheua.png](https://us.v-cdn.net/5022071/uploads/editor/om/p30zfloyheua.png)
I want it to be hollow only below the selected face. Maybe extrude is a better option? The problem with extrude was I couldn't figure out how to shrink non-proportionally so the thickness is the same around the edge of the cavity.

Another option could be to split you body and only use the shell feature on the right half.1
