RayCast Result: Entity Equivalence in a TransientId

I have an input surface that I am casting rays onto, but as well as this surface I am also casting rays through another object's faces. I'm trying to see which ones reach the surface and which don't. So I'm attempting to use the transientId in the RaycastResult map. What I'm finding though, is that evaluating the surface query before raycasting gets a transientId that doesn't feature in any of the intersections, and as the name suggests and I guess as would be expected the transientId is no longer what it was before!
Is there some way I can detect the equivalence of the entity that the transientId results in, even if the ids are different? Otherwise to me it seems like the queried thing is a little bit lost.
