Rack and pinion relationship tool

When creating a "Rack and Pinion relationship", is there a trick to adjust the the pinion and/or rack so the teeth mesh properly?

    Edit the mate connector for the gear and add a rotation around Z of the appropriate angle (probably 1/2 a tooth or something related).
