How to update a drawing base template?

Keith_AllenKeith_Allen Member Posts: 2 PRO
I have a bunch of old drawings that need to be updated with a new template. My new template has a primary sheet and a continuation sheet. In the first drawing I am working with, I've updated the drawing properties and each individual sheet to the new template. It updated them all to the primary sheet rather than updating sheets 2 and 3 to the continuation sheet. Also, when I add a sheet, it still pulls up the old document template and makes me manually update it (to the incorrect format since it's still not recognizing the new sheet as a continuation).

If I make a new drawing, I get to select the template when I create the drawing, and then the sheets generate correctly. Is there any way to go back and change the template associated with the drawing tab? Or is the only way to create a new drawing and copy all of the contents over?

If you have updated the template, you must also update the dwt file with the new version.
This can be completed by opening the dwt file, right-clicking the tab along the bottom and selecting update. Finally, select the new file to update with.
Once this is completed, double-click on the sheet in the left-hand menu in your drawing, re-select the template, and it should update.
