Thread creator doesn't work in a perfectly good hole

TechnoidTechnoid Member Posts: 6
I can't seem to get my 1/4-20 thread to generate in one part with a 0.250" diameter hole, but in another document with another 0.250" diameter hole, the thread creator generates the thread no problem. I was going crazy trying to figure out why this might be... until I realized that it just doesn't like one of the ends of the hole. Is there any reason why it doesn't like this end of the hole? This end of the hole was created by a Boolean operation which cuts out an organic STEP file shape from the part, but I can't imagine why the thread creator cares about this.

The tool probably works by first needing a flat surface to circle extrude the hole and then doing the thread extrude sweep command. If it starts from an organic surface then you're just gonna have to either create a flat surface use the thread tool, then remove the flat surface, or simply do the hole and sweeped thread profile yourself.
