Start the helix below the face of a conical?

brent_pagebrent_page Member Posts: 2
I am making a bottle cap thread, therefore the Thread Creator will not work.  The space between the top of the thread and the top of the bottleneck needs to be 0.94mm  I have sketched the profile of the thread at that location, but I cannot get the helix to start at that location, it only starts at the top face of the conical.  And when I try to do a sweep, the starts the sweep at the bottom of the profile (because the bottom of the profile is closer to the helix line), therefore creating the sweep in the wrong direction/location.  I am very frustrated, any advise is greatly appreciated.

If you use the axis option, you can create a mate connector with an offset to start the helix exactly where you want it.

If your thread is going to continue past the cylindrical face at all, you should make the cross section overlap into the main body so it doesn't end up with a sliver of a gap like you have right now.
