How can one export an Assembly ( or download to a local disk) as separate STEP files for the Parts in the assembly

This should be added to the improvement request list. Currently you have to click on each part and export one by one unfortunately :(

This is actually more complex than it might appear at first glance: Should the individual parts all be placed on their respective origins, or should they all be placed relative to each other, as they are in the current assembly, and what happens to multiple instances? Will a STEP assembly file be exported, too? AFAIK only the latest STEP version allows external file references.

I would also be very much interested in a STEP multi part export option, but it would probably be much more useful if the above was considered first.

CADSharp has an app in the Onshape app store that can do this:

Open in the context of an assembly and it will let you export all of the assembly components/subassemblies as STEP
