Plane visibility (eye icon) not available when in Sketch mode

Hi all, when I enter Sketch 2, suddenly all other sketches and planes are hidden. I cannot display them since the eye icon is not shown. I need to display to create an intersect... Thanks!

The feature tree is in order of rebuild. When you edit Sketch 2, the only things available to reference are Sketch 1 and the default geometry (the origin and Top, Front, Right planes). If other things aren't dependent on Sketch 2, you could drag it down the tree to re-order it later after whatever you want to reference.

Many thanks for the explanation @S1mon! I was not aware of this, but it explains a lot. It also explains why my workaround did the trick (which was re-create some of the elements on another sketch further down in the hierarchy.
