laser joint only working for even number of shelves

Hi,
I'm new to onshape and have been working on a design of a tab and slot storage rack using the laser joint feature script. When I apply the the script to my rack in automatic mode, it will only work if have an even number of shelves. If I have an odd number of shelves, it throws an error "laser joint did not generate properly". I can get it to generate if I deselect the middle shelf, although obviously this means that tab and slots are not generated for this middle shelf.
V1 (rack with no tab and laser joint applied)
