Enter inches in mm project?

tracy_evanstracy_evans Member Posts: 15 PRO
Many CAD apps will let one enter inches (say 5 1/8") into a field in a metric doc and automatically convert it to mm's, and vice versa. Not OnShape? Am I missing something?

This would be so convenient, and eliminate me needn't to pop over to another browser window dozens of times to convert dims "by hand".

I am a metric guy and only do that now and then. If you want fractional inches, you will have to substitute 5 1/8" by 5.125 inches or go full out and use (5+(1/8)) inches. Inches and math have probably never been best friends ... ;0)

Can't see the problem: Just type "10 inches" into a dimension and it converts to 254mm, when you are in a millimeter project:

Thanks for the quick reply and solution! I was typing 10" (like I do in SketchUp) instead of 10 in.

    This format works for fractions.
