How to make a flange - I can't select the edge when prompted

As the title says, I can't select the edge I want from the sheet metal I've thickened or extruded (tried both).

Red arrows indicated are the edges I want to make a flange from. What am I missing?

    You used ticken, but you must select the Sheetmetal first and create the sheetmetal part

     You will need to make a sheet metal part first (I would replace your thicken with a sheet metal model and use thicken in that tool). The flange tool only works on sheet metal parts.
