How to fix an error with circular pattern?

I created a vase using circular pattern but and I select the add option, I get an error.

    Nice vase, but things that shouldn't be, do get tangent on top and bottom face, when applying the boolean. I think that you should overbuild the ornaments a bit, or maybe offset the sweep path ever so slightly, and trim them off after the boolean, to avoid self intersection.
