How to switch the OnShape to 2D mode?

alex_vestasalex_vestas Member Posts: 59
Sometimes, to create simple drawings there is no need to use 3D mode. Moreover, it can even make it difficult to create ordinary drawings due to the complicated interface. How to switch the OnShape to 2D mode?

Onshape doesn't have a 2D mode. You can either use drawings or sketches.

I've just discovered that drawings can now be exported as .svg(is this new or had I just missed this!!!!) files so I've been using sketches as 2D drawings, dropping them into a 'drawing' and exporting.  Quick tidy up on inkscape and jobs a good one!  I think the sketch interface is really good!
