STL files end up in mm instead of inches on both Cura and Flashprint

Files I have successfully printed before and a new one I'm trying to 3d print today are showing up in slicers as mm instead of the original inches. Workspace units are set to inches, and the STL export is set to inches. I have tried different STL formats (text and binary) and different resolutions.

STL is inherently unitless, so the slicer software is guessing. See if your slicer software supports STEP. If so, use it going forward. It has units on it, the file size is much smaller, and its also not faceted as an STL is.
