Could not shell part with selections, what am I doing wrong?

I am trying to make a turbocharger thet will get 3D printed and connected to a motor, but I encountered another issue. 

I am really struggling with the intake. I am not really sure about the intake shape or placement, so I tried something that resembles other peoples designs I saw on youtube, but the program does not let me shell the part for some unknown reason.

    Thank you, this was surprising but it worked. What are the more things to do? I am a bit lost in this project.
