Editing derived parts imported ?

glenn_pierceglenn_pierce Member Posts: 9 ✭✭
I have an assembly of a bot 3d printer that I imported from a step file from a third party.

I imported to

I have a query about a how to edit parts though well I guess part studio's and assemblies.

I want to created a new length of the 2040 extrusion say.

If I double click one of the extrusion lengths in the assembly I get taken to a part studio.
Here I see many derived parts but double clicking them doesn't allow editing. Is the info for those derived parts not there. How would I go about adding a new length. Of extrusion.

Thanks

the parts are all there, just as an import. so there are no features building the part to edit afterwards.

a move face could have been used to alter the length

In the end I created a ned model in the same parts studio based on a new sketch. I assumed the derived part info is not there to edit.
