Boolean error

michale_scottmichale_scott Member Posts: 3
I am trying to use a Boolean function to add part 1 (I beam) and part 4 (strip), but an error occurs. I even added a weld fillet to ensure the two parts intersect, but the error continues.

Michale, The parts you are trying to boolean do not intersect or touch each other. The welds you've created are parts themselves and although one is touching both the strip and the beam, it doesn't change the fact that the strip and the beam are, as they were before, not booleanable. It may be possible for you to boolean the strip, the beam, and the adjacent weld to make it work.

If you are using welds to accomplish uniting parts, I don't think it's the right way to go about it. It would be better to create the parts to allow a boolean to succeed without them.

The document you posted a link to is not public which doesn't allow me or another member to delve into it to possibly make suggestions.
