Can't Select Curved Face for Extruding

So, I've been trying to extrude this blade for a slipper (and then use intersect) for this slipper outline that I will print. Problem is, I can't extrude that super thin surface. I tried making it bigger, but it still failed. I tried to cut part 2 into several smaller ones, but it still failed. (Main problem is when I select extrude, it doesn't let me select the face. (The curved one on the inside of part 2.)) Anyone have any other ideas? Loft also doesn't work. (Trying to make 23º blade.)

I was mainly using extrude for it's draft properties. Thicken worked, but I needed extrude to work.
