How do I get rid of black lines after importing

Hello,

Does anyone know how to remove these black lines after I have imported this model? I tried editing appearance but they remain.
Thanks,
Kieran

If you just don't want to see them. Use display without edges from the display pull down on the right side of display. They don't go away. As Martin indicates You're looking at a faceted object.

Easy: Just don't import a tesselated model like STL or OBJ, use STEP or Parasolid instead. These lines are actually edges in a body made up of triangles.
