Can't select spit curve for loft | Manipulating Surfaces - Exercise: Handle

Hi!
I have been working through the Onshape Manipulating Surfaces Tutorial and have run into an issue when using loft. I attached two screenshots to illustrate the problem and a link to the project.
I am not able to select part of the curved line that was previously split using the split tool (see picture 1, it selects the entire curve). It looks to me as if it wasn't correctly split although all other related lines and surfaces have been split (see picture 2 where part of the bottom line can be selected).

Turn off your sketches. The upper selection is a sketch line; what you want/need is the edge of the surface.2
