I'm struggling to convert what seems like a simple extruded model to a sheet metal model

I'm guessing this is 5 minutes for someone who knows what they are doing. I'd like to convert my model:

to a sheet metal model for export for fabrication but I can't seem to get it to work correctly. Please don't be shy about editing the public model as I have a copy to work from. I'd also love to know the proper steps.

Here is the conversion of your part. (Not recommended). Better to start it over from scratch using sheetmetal tools.

Here is a better beginning.

PS. Each part studio sows a different method.
Note that the courses are free.
