How do I make a copy of a part such that I can keept it and revert the boolean

Hi,
I have created two curved parts and realised I needed a "post" to go beween them. I created an extrusion and then used the curved parts as tools to cut it, so I had me new part with two curved ends.
Now, is there a way to "copy" and keep that "post" produced by the boolean so I can supress the boolean and continue to work on the original parts without the post reverting back to it's initial extrusion state?
