why does this look correct in view but prints solid.

it looks like I may have multiple problems here.  the first extruded piece has a shaded blue and gray area which is different from the rest.  then the first face blend is dark blue.  there is something going on between these two parts that is causing my problem.  when I print it, it looks like the face blend is printing solid all the way through.  when I rotate it around it looks like everything is ok except the color variations. not sure if i'm doing this correctly but here is a link, i think. thanks for the help.

@Johnny....   Not sure this will a make  difference, but maybe simplifying your design will help!

I fixed it, but only by starting over.  I was hoping someone could figure out what I did wrong so I would not make the same the mistake again or at least to know what was wrong so I knew how to fix it in the future.  But all I know now is to fix it is to start over, bummer. Thanks for at least taking a look.

I looked at the history, and it looks to me like the issue might have been that you had extruded one and extruded three set to new. One of them should have been set to add. I might have missed something though.

I think you are correct.  I ran into a similar situation with something else and now that you said that it clicked.  thank you and I will try not to make that mistake again.
