Sketching a circle to be extruded on a curved surface

Please illustrate how to sketch a circle on a curved surface that will later be extruded.

    You have several curved surfaces, and extrusions can do a lot of things. Can you sketch on a screenshot what you want to do?

    If your curved surface is a cylinder, use wrap:

    Otherwise, you could extrude a sketch as a surface up to the curved surface and then use the split tool.  Those tools will get your sketch onto the curved surface.  But you can't extrude a 3D entity, so you should use move face or thicken.  That will get you this:



    Or, if your goal is just to have a cylinder poking out of the curved surface, sketch on another plane and then extrude up to face.  That will get you this:
