Can you add the quantity of an item to a note or something in a drawing?

Hello,

I'm trying to automatically insert the quantity of an item into my drawing but don’t want to use the entire BOM table. I want to make it easy to see, like a big X with the quantity.

I could type it manually, as my assembly is fairly small, but I’d like to avoid as many human errors as possible. I see you can add a bunch of parametric stuff, but I can't find the quantity.

You could make a reduced BOM table that only holds the part name and the quantity.

I've had a lengthy discussion in the company about how useful it is to have the quantity printed on a drawing. My position is that it is none of a parts business to know how many of it exist elsewhere. Sure, the shop wants to know how many they need to produce, store or pack for any given project. But that is what BOMs are for. The same part might be used for different assemblies or even projects, and what quantity for which project will there be on the part drawing, then? If you change the design and add say one more bracket, you'll have to update all bracket drawings issued before, make a new revision for already relesed parts, and hunt down all older copies of it flying around the shop floor, for they communicate the wrong quantity. Been there. I learned it creates more errors than it prevents.

Try using a callout instead of a note
