Fixing sliding mates into position
Hi,
I'm creating a wall unit with 2 drawer cabinets.
Once I put together the assembly of the drawer cabinet, I needed to move the drawer fronts up and down (that's why I created the drawer assembly with a sliding mate between the drawer box and the front panel).
All the drawer boxes are at specific heights within the cabinet. Now that that's done, I've slid the front of each drawer up and down to where it will be in the final piece.
Is there any way to fix the front panels' vertical position now that everything's finally where it's supposed to be?
This is my design:

The cabinet is in the following folder: Bottom / Drawer Cabinet / Drawer Cabinet assembly.
Thanks!
PS: I think I submitted this question already, but it's 4 am and I've been at it all day, so I'm not sure I clicked on the "Ask question" button, so if this is a double-post, please delete it.

Hey @alex_k506,
I would suggest that you measure the offset and then change your slider mates to fastened mates with that offset value.
Let me know if it works. Cheers
Hi David,
I thought of that and tried, but from the cabinet assembly I can't edit the drawer fronts' up/down slider to make it fixed (there's a drawer-box assembly, which is then part of the drawer assembly, which has the drawer-box and the drawer front connected with the up/down slider mate, which is what I've inserted several times into the drawer cabinet assembly).
But even if I did that, given the position of each drawer-box relative to the cabinet, each drawer-front is positioned differently vertically in relation to its drawer-box, so the offset between drawer-box and drawer-front is different for each drawer, this vertical offset is instance-specific, as opposed to assembly-specific.
I guess the only option would be to ignore the drawer assembly and instead insert 5 instances of the drawer-box assembly, 5 instances of the drawer-front part into the drawer-cabinet assembly and mate them there.
Thanks!
Alex
Hey @alex_k506,
Perfect occasion to check out Onshape's configuration features:

- Assembly configurations: https://learn.onshape.com/courses/assembly-configurations
You can have a look at the copy of your document that I have created. I have created a configuration of your large drawer subassembly and then used two different configs in your cabinet. You can do then the same for the smaller drawers.
