making a screw thread into a hole

Is there a way to make a screw thread into a hole that is a reversed flat cylindrical surface, or is that just not one?

    Not sure what a 'reversed flat cylinder' is. Below is my guess and a couple of ways to thread 'it'. - Scotty

    Thanks, that is what I was asking for. I said "reversed flat cylinder" because the surface of it is flat before you add in helix, thread profile, and sweep; and the reverse cylinder because normal cylinders are like a can or bottle, not a hole in another object.
