This looks really like a simple feature script, where I want to join/union two adjacent surfaces:

It is not a problem with the queries as they return 2 faces, even planar ones.
So what am I doing wrong???

Technically surfaces are of the "Body" entity type. So you will need to find their bodies not their faces. Like this:
