Links in this forum: Require improvements

Most users here don't get the links/URLs in their postings right, resulting in 90% or so of all URLs posted not being clickable. I have the impression that this keeps readers from actually following the links, and posters from getting help.

It is only partly the user's fault, for though it is possible to do it right, it is a specific counterintuitive multi-step workflow and unreliable at that. In the old forum software, the system would just auto-recognize any URLs and make them clickable, but in the current version, it is the user's task to insert them the correct way. Could somebody like a web master or moderator look into this? It is annoying and not state of the art any more since the 90ies or so.

Thank you.

I like some of the other improvements, but this has been the biggest frustration.

Yes - this one area was a step backward, with the new patch.
