Share a file to students so they each individually can finish it

I want to share a file I started to all my students, so they can practice mating parts in an assembly. I want them to individually finish the assembly without changing the document for everyone. How do I share this so they can do this?

The best way to do this is to use Classes and Assignments. Using this functionality will also help with organization since when students start an assignment a document will be automatically copied, named, shared with you, and organized under the assignment in the class for you.

Check out this Learning Center course for more in-depth how-to.
Note: You will have to have a free Educator Account to use Classes and Assignments. Upgrade your account here.

Alternatively you can do the following:

    1. Share your starter document as view-only, with copy permission to the students.
    2. Tell students to make a copy of the starter document.
    3. Have them share their copy of the document with you.
    4. If you use an LMS like Blackboard you can also have the students copy and paste the URL of their document into the LMS.
