Datetimes in FeatureScript?
I do a lot of 3D print prototyping with onshape, and I've started to heavily use the convert to expression
feature in sketch text elements.
I was wondering if there is a way to also include the current date/time in that so if I have a bunch of parts I know what the newest one is.
I realize this might be hard on the kernel because it would need to be re-evaluated every change (iiuc). I feel like something might be possible where it is delayed until export, which is the only time I'd really need to have the datetime actually part of the model.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure there's a deliberate avoidance of any functionality that could make a part regenerate differently with the exact same inputs, so I don't expect you'll ever have this as a live thing, but I could imagine it as a "click to update" kind of situation. Best I've got for now is to make a variable feature with a string of the date and update that manually. It would at least populate to all of the places it's used in that model. There is likely also a way to do it via the API, but I don't know enough about that.
Thanks! yeah that was basically how I was going to do a workaround.
