New to onshape

hello, new guy here, i have been moving along with onshape but i have hit my first roadblock. For my other designs, i was able to make small risers, 5 mm dia with a 1.5mm hole in the center. I created a new document to make a lid for a box. Made one sketch rectangle extruded 3mm then another sketch rectangle then extruded. I tried to make a riser on the second extrusion under thin with a dia of 1.5 and nooe not this time. I also tried to use extrusion to remove a circular pattern on each corner and it would not do that either. Could someone please help me out and give me some direction? Ive tried general internet searches but no rel info fixed my issue.

There is excellent training built into Onshape. Forget the youtube stuff, go right to the source. It's free and easy to follow. CAD is difficult to pick up without the training.
that's the link to the lid im making, i need some radius removed from the corners and i would like some standoffs. I cannot figure out why neither will work.

sorry i figured it out, i wasnt clicking on the area within the circle, when i did that it all worked properly.
Nice. Check out constraints, it will save you a lot of time instead of dimensioning every single boss.
