PDF management like Bluebeam Revu

Onshape can hold things like PDFs, and images etc.

Modeling is based on extensive research and a 3d model is the end result of that research.

Need a way to capture the research done so anyone, months later, can see how you came to that conclusion, that is, the 3d model.

So if Onshape could have the following for PDFs:

  1. Place links on one pdf & link to other places in that pdf or another pdf.
  2. Place bookmark links directly on the model that will then take you to the research that you did so as to prove the 3d work.
  3. Have an AI assistant to run searched for tasks. Example Prompt: "search the library of for all information on heat exchangers from 1958 to 1972. Then make a index with links."

Note the video below. (note time index 1:50) All my research of pdfs etc are done in two other applications that are not linked to Onshape. Difficult to share.

The way it works is research, research, research then a little bit of modeling then more research, research, research… It would be best to have it all in Onshape.

If I was making a master library of the ORNL MSR research for others to use, then how would anyone have any confidence in my models unless i also was able to attach "bookmarks" to my model so all can see.

Put another way. Anyone who was granted the ability to derive my models into their project would automatically get access to the 200+ ORNL technical reports. This would make Onshape the goto location for serious modeling. Things like GrabCAD are just 3d models with no way to know the quality of such work. I want to produce a library of the best researched 3d models that can be done on this subject.

How about this….is there a way to include links on a model that will take someone to google Docs/Sheets?

    If so then problem solved.

    Would linktab work for you?
