Mate Question

randall_brustrandall_brust Member Posts: 4 ✭✭
I'm trying to figure out how to mate cylinder to a block.  Say you have an 1/8" diameter dowel and you want to mate it to the edge of an 1/8" thick sheet.  The end of the dowel is not necessarily cut perpendicular, it may be cut at an angle.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Randy

Jake, the assembly will model an 1/8" thick sheet of wood with 1/8" diameter dowels attached along the edges of it.

Got it.  I'm used to using any part's original reference planes when mating in SW.  What I was missing in OS was that you can place a mate connector in the part studio referenced to the origin.  This is particularly useful for oddly shaped parts.

    Thanks,
