variables in a project.
Hello.
I am designing a bed. I want to create a part for each part of the bed and then to assemble it in the assemble future. I know it is not exactly how to do it but it is easier for me to do it like that rather then all parts in one part tab.
My question is is there a way to create a global variable that i can use in all my parts tabs? All my bolt holes are same diameter (a design choice) but i am not sure about the diameter itself. I may want to change it in the future and do not want to go and change every hole that i have made (there are lots of holes).
Thanks,
Mike

Sure, this can be done using a Variable Studio. It can be imported in all your part studio's to drive the diameter of the hole size.
It can drive the diameter of the hole in the bottom of the hole dialog, that overrides the chosen hole size. (e.g. M5)
So you cannot drive the change from M5 to M6, but you can override the created diameter from 5.5 mm to 6.6 by changing the variable.
However I believe it cannot be used to drive the standard parts chosen in the assembly. try and use the replicate and pattern functionality in assemlbies as much as possible to limit the nr of changes there.
of course this could be done through configurations as well, but I don't think that's what you're looking for here.
