3dconnexion space and cadmouse question before I buy!
I am using linux ubuntu 24xxxxlts with firefox as browser.
I am looking to get myself de 3dconnexion spacemouse wired and the cadmouse wireless for my 3d cad. Trouble is there are loads of problems reported everywhere with regards to connectivity, missing functions and stability. And the company does not seem overly keen to assist. Also the linux drivers that are mouse related seem to be from 2014!
Question is simple, is there anybody here who has my setup and who is using the 3dconnexion mice? What are the expierences? What did you need to do to get it to work and is it stable?
Thanks.

I've been using a similar setup for some time, though I always preferred the wired types. The simple models (Those with just the 'knob' and not much keys) appeared to be more robust, possibly due to the old drivers. I'd be careful and try befor I use them today: On current Linux MINT I couldn't get it to run yet. I also know of no alternative driver.

So unfortunately you confirm what I read in most other sources that Linux is not supported very well by 3Dconnexion on the whole. Certainly not going to spend that sort of money on a set of space knob and cadmouse if there is only a slim chance of it ever working as it should.
Thanks for your reply, will look for another option.
@kees_bijker I am usually on Linux for all stuff I do office, private and hobby, but I just bought a second hand laptop running Win11pro as my CAD web interface. I don't run anything but Firefox and my cloud storage service on it and stripped it of all the unnecessary stuff. On the bottom line, it was easier. I am a big fan of space mice, so that tipped the scale for me.
