Trying to assemble an adjustable lamp

kingsley_izimakingsley_izima Member Posts: 5

I'm really new to Onshape taking a beginner's project assembling a lamp with adjustable legs. There is a braked leg on revolute that connects to a spring axel. The axel should slide out of a spring base when the leg is bent. I have attached a screenshot describing how it should move. When I unsuppress the third mate feature Onsape brings out multiple erroers. I've tried so many ways to do this but nothing seem to be working. It should just easily rotate, and then slide out right? Please help, I have no ideas anymore

Change that revolute mate to a cylindrical mate, and everything will work.

you’re a life saver man thanks a lot. I did this before but I must not have configured the directions then so it didn’t work as well. Now it definitely does. Cheers man
