Will a 3d printer print 3 separate parts as 1 part if fastened?

So I wanted to print something that is made up of 3 parts fastened together through fasten mates however I wanted it to print as 1 part.

Will this be able to print as 1 when exported and if not how will I do it?

Mates do not have any effect on how the printer prints the parts. They are still exported as individual parts. Only booleans would make them one.

depends on the 3d printing technology i guess? this is also how multi-color prints are made though, so normally they'll attach if they're sliced like this.

if however your slicer/supplier splits the objects from the step and prints them at a distance of eachother, obviously not.

as Marting said: this is more of a 3d printing question than on an onshape question. boolean would be the best option.

doesn't need mated. just select all the parts you want as one and uncheck this box when exporting…

tested it out on this assembly to be sure and its all one object. parts don't even need to be touching to get em in one file.
